Pet Safety Policy
Effective from 15 August 2026
“The animal in the car cannot tell us it is frightened. Everything here assumes that.”
1. Restraint
Every animal is restrained. Dogs travel in a harness sized to them and clipped to the seatbelt. Cats and small animals travel in a carrier strapped to the seat. Crates are secured in place — never loose in the boot, and never stacked.
We do not carry an unrestrained animal, including on an owner’s lap in the front seat. An unrestrained pet in a 40 km/h stop is a projectile.
2. Temperature and air
The car is cooled before your pet gets in. Air conditioning runs for the whole trip, including while waiting. Windows stay up enough that a dog cannot get its head out.
No animal is ever left alone in a parked car. Not for a minute, not with the engine running.
3. Driver conduct
- Drivers let you do the loading if that is calmer for your animal.
- They approach side-on and low, never reaching over the head of a dog they have just met.
- They do not feed your pet, offer treats, or give any medication.
- They drive gently — braking early, taking corners wide — because a carrier slides.
4. What we ask of you
- Tell us if your pet is anxious, reactive, senior, pregnant, post-operative, or has bitten before. It changes how we plan the trip, not whether we take it.
- Do not feed a large meal within two hours of travel.
- Send your vet’s name and number. We keep it on the trip sheet.
- Do not sedate your pet without your vet’s explicit instruction for travel — and tell us if you have.
5. Emergencies
If an animal shows signs of genuine distress — collapse, laboured breathing, continuous vomiting, a seizure — the driver stops, calls you, and goes to the nearest veterinary facility rather than the booked destination. We call your vet if we have their number.
Any emergency veterinary cost is yours, but the diversion itself is never charged.
6. Things we will refuse
- Carrying an animal a driver reasonably judges to be an immediate danger to themselves or to the vehicle.
- Carrying an animal that appears acutely unwell, until you have spoken to a vet.
- Leaving an animal anywhere other than with a person.
- Carrying more animals than we can restrain properly in one car.
Where we decline at pickup for a reason you disclosed in advance, the trip is refunded in full.
7. Incidents
If anything happens to an animal in our care, we tell you the same day, in full, without waiting to be asked. Report a concern to info@kyvoz.in, or escalate to Rohan Sinha at info@kyvoz.in.
